cyprus property market rise

The number of real property transactions rose 3 per cent to 385 in September compared to the year before mainly on a strong rebound in Nicosia and Larnaca, the department of lands and surveys said.

The number of property transactions in Nicosia rose 63 per cent to 65 in September while those in Larnaca increased 42 per cent to 85 compared to a year before, the department said in a statement on its website on Monday. The number of properties which changed hands in Famagusta district rose an annual 20 per cent to 30.

In Limassol and Paphos, the number of property transactions reported to the district offices of the department of lands and surveys fell 7 per cent and 27 per cent to 114 and 91 respectively, compared to September 2014, the department said.

In the first nine months of the year, the overall number of property transactions increased 6 per cent to 3,530, the department said.

According to a separate statement, the number of non-Cypriot property buyers was 59 in September and 412 in January to September
